Politics

The experience of moving a bill from creation to passage in the Vermont Legislation has been a highlight in serving. On 5/4/06 the Vermont legislators passed the bill H.480 “An Act Relating to Precursor Drugs of Methamphetamine”. Diane has had the opportunity to represent the Health Dept on this issue in Montpelier . Diane is leaving her position with the Health Dept in order to run for office.

Diane believes there is a positive role for government in a person's life.

Growing up in an Irish family in an industrial union city can only mean politics was an important part the daily life. Diane witnessed the Kennedy moment, although young was aware of the presence of government and its impact.

In 1968 Diane was not at the time, aware of the significance of standing color guard for Bobbie Kennedy on his campaign stop to the Buffalo area.

War, marriage and children captured most of Diane's attendance for decades. Not until Howard had Diane been so personally called to action. Listening to his announcement speech on Church Street in 2004 and not only hearing but feeling his “You have the Power”. Change was coming and it would take effort and investment. Door to door in NH, meet ups, and whatever was needed were all worth the time and experience.

Vergennes City Democratic Chair, delegate to the Addison Cty Democrats and most honorably Addison County State Committee Women to the State Party are all Diane's positions. Running as a Dean delegate to the National Democratic 2004 Convention in Boston was a delight even through Diane was not able to attend.

he experience did however begin the thoughts for further office. With your support Diane will be your next representative
