Community service has been a large part of life in the Lanpher household. Some of Diane's activities include:

● Lake Champlain Bridge Public Advisory Committee
● Vergennes Energy
● Lion’s Club
● St. Peter’s Church

Former Member:
● Vergennes City Council
● Addison County Transportation Advisory Committee

Winner:
● 2010 “Champion” Award for leadership in the fight against youth drug and alcohol abuse

Volunteer:
● Boy Scouts – Jim and Diane served as popcorn chair persons for Addison county towns

● Tiger Cubs – parent planning monthly activities

● Girl Scouts and Brownies – Parent volunteer

● Involvement in the Friends of Music, Chaperone high school band trip to Annapolis , MD

● Assisted Building & Finance Committee

●  Religious Instructor for 18 years, plus

●  Folk Group

● Eurcharist Minister

●  Bishop Lay Dialogue Committee

●  Opened their home to students on summer and internship assignments
